Charges laid in fatal collision near Rockin’ the Fields

The driver of a vehicle who struck three pedestrians close to the entrance of Rockin’ the Fields in Minnedosa has been charged with impaired/drive over .08 causing death, impaired/drive over .08 causing bodily harm and two counts of failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
Christopher Palaschuk, 39, appeared in Minnedosa Provincial Court on Aug. 5. His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 7.
On Aug. 4, shortly before 3:00 a.m., Minnedosa RCMP along with local fire and EMS responded to a serious collision involving a vehicle and three pedestrians at Provincial Road 262 by Road 85N.
Initial investigation showed that a southbound vehicle struck a male and female who were walking along the shoulder of the highway and then proceeded a short distance further and struck another male subject.
Local EMS treated and released on scene a 44-year-old male of Winnipeg, who had been walking alone. A 25-year-old male and 23-year-old female, both of Minnedosa were transported to local hospital where the male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. The female pedestrian was treated and released.
