Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) will help you get back to your roots this fall with a cornucopia of fresh and delicious recipes in the newest edition of the Quick and Healthy cookbook.
"We're just not eating enough fruit and vegetables every day," says Amanda Nash, registered dietician and nutrition manager at HSF. "With this fantastic batch of delicious recipes featuring the root vegetable, we're hoping to inspire 水果视频ns to reach for vegetables when preparing meals.鈥
Canada's Food Guide recommends that adults consume seven to 10 fruit and vegetables daily, which will help lower their risk for chronic diseases including heart disease, stroke, cancers, diabetes and obesity. However, almost 60 per cent of Canadians over age 12 consume fewer than five servings of vegetables and fruit per day.
