The staff at Rocky Mountain Equipment in Neepawa has settled into their new location. On Monday, the machinery dealership shifted its business into the former Murray鈥檚 of Neepawa building on Mountain Avenue. The move is temporary, as the company waits for construction of its new building just east of town to be completed.

Branch Sales Manager Shawn Compton said although moves of this size can be a bit stressful, the staff have met the challenge head on and have been able to make the transition as seamless as possible.

鈥淭he move date was suppose to be Sept. 30 for us to be out of the old building, so we thought we鈥檇 try to get into the new location a bit early. So, [Monday] was our first active day here,鈥 said Compton. 鈥淭he staff has been working very hard to get everything moved over in time and it鈥檚 so far, so good.鈥

Even though the staff has not yet finished unpacking, they鈥檙e already looking ahead to their next move in the spring of 2015, which Compton hopes will be their last.

鈥淚t鈥檚 looking like March will be the relocation date, but it鈥檒l depend on when seeding hits. We鈥檙e not going to make another move like this during a busy season. We鈥檒l wait. If we can get in earlier, that would be great but if we鈥檙e in the middle of seeding, we鈥檒l stay put until after [seeding is complete], said Compton. 鈥淓veryone is pretty optimistic about what鈥檚 going on at the new site, but we鈥檙e still excited about having somewhere like this to go to in the short term.鈥

Rocky Mountain Equipment (RME) is the owner of the Case-IH farm machinery dealership in Neepawa and has 38 locations across western Canada. Last year, Neepawa town council approved the sale of 15 acres for $75,000 to Rocky Mountain. The parcel of land is located near Highway 16 in the town鈥檚 industrial park.
