Ottawa and Winnipeg security update

The fatal shooting of a CFB soldier at the National War Memorial in Ottawa has caused a national security alert situation. An alleged gunman has been shot near the three political party caucus offices in the centre block of the parliament buildings in Ottawa.
It鈥檚 not known at this time if there are more alleged gunmen on the loose.
As of 2 p.m on Wednesday, Oct. 22 the parliament buildings are under a lockdown. Local MP Robert Sopuck and all other MPs and staff are currently safe. The MPs at this point in time aren鈥檛 being let out of the building.
In Winnipeg, there鈥檚 extra security at the 水果视频 legislature and it鈥檚 reported that all other legislature buildings in Canada are under extra security. Canadian Forces bases including CFB Shilo are under restricted access as extra security has been put in place.
