Plenty of games but movies are cancelled

By Myrtle Wooldridge

Twenty-three members attended the March 26 meeting of Rivers 50+ Club; new member Hugh Depencier was welcomed. Information was given for the Seniors Day at Austin on June 2; president Ken Young will get information as to the cost to taking the handi-transit there. If you are interested in going, names are to be presented at our next meeting on April 16.

Activities are all going well but movies have been cancelled until next winter.

Games co-ordinator Caroline Wells gave a detailed report on members taking part in competitions in other districts. Members have been to Birtle, Newdale, Sandy Lake, Hamiota and  Rapid City. Many first, second and third certificates were brought home. On Feb. 27 Rivers hosted table shuffleboard. Several members took part in a shuffleboard tournament in Oak Lake on March 27.

Donating cookies to Riverdale Personal Care 水果视频 in April are Audrey Ashton and Adrienne Beaudin.

Sue Klassen was invited to speak at our meeting to share her experiences working with Canadian  Co-operative Association in Uganda, Africa. She gave a very informative presentation complete with slides. Sue stayed for coffee and answered many questions from our members about her experience.

Beth Schafer had the birthday/anniversary table attractively decorated with a St. Patrick鈥檚 Day theme and honoured members sat at the table.
