Administration for the Town of Neepawa is asking for a little bit of understanding from residents when it comes to the first major snowfall of the winter. A low pressure system struck southern 水果视频 earlier this month and left between 12 to 15 centimetres of snow across the region.
The initial removal of the white stuff from the town was not met with much enthusiasm from rate payers, who complained about what they believed to be a slow response to the clearing of the streets.
During the most recent Town council meeting, on Tuesday, Dec. 15, Manager of Operations Denis Saquet noted that the first round of snow clearing was a little awkward, but asked for property owners to hang in there.
鈥淭he company we have the contract with to remove the snow is going through a transition. There are a lot of new operators that are not familiar with the snow routes that we have and which ones are the priorities,鈥 Saquet noted. 鈥淎s time progressed in the snow clearing, we noticed that things were improving and we are expecting things to run much more smoothly the next time snowfall occurs.鈥
Saquet added that the Town is working with F. Kozak and Sons Ltd., the company hired to do the snow removal, on some of the issues that were brought up by the public.
Town administration also confirmed that notices were distributed to some of the parked vehicles in no parking and snow route areas during the snow removal. Saquet stressed that to ensure the removal of snow can go forward without issue, it鈥檚 important for owners to find alternative locations to park their vehicles.
