As indicated in our last newspaper article, Riverdale Harvest food bank has been looking for a new home. Zion Church has graciously extended space to us! We are very excited to begin the planning, co-ordinating and performing of this move. We have not worked out the details yet, but hope within the month to be co-ordinated, if not completely moved.
If you would like to help in any way, please contact a board member!
Lent is a period of 40 days before Easter (not including Sundays) which many churches observe. To coincide with Lent, which started Feb. 10, we are challenging our local churches to collect 40 cans during the 40 days. We are currently low on canned fruits and vegetables and would appreciate any donations.
We continued to supply a steady number of hampers over January: 23 families; 51 children under 18; one couple and four singles. If you are in need of a hamper please call in advance for an appointment; either Liliane (204-328-7968) or me (204-328-7341).
