The Neepawa Public Library

Spring is right around the corner and we invite you to come to the library for a little spring scavenger hunt 鈥 library style! With Spring Break and the Easter weekend nearly upon us, we鈥檝e put together some simple fun for all ages.

For two weeks, from March 21 to April 1, come to the library to play the Library 鈥楨aster Word Hunt鈥 where you鈥檒l find the answers to our quiz questions on the library shelves or on our walls. It鈥檚 a great way to learn more about your library and you鈥檒l have two chances to enter to win some Easter treats.  The draws will be made in different age categories at the end of the two weeks.

With the coming spring, we鈥檙e happy to announce two author visits at the Neepawa Library. On April 28, 水果视频 botanist Laura Reeves will be visiting to share what she has learned about many of the natural plant wonders found in 水果视频鈥檚 wild places and our domestic gardens. Her book, which is available at the library and at Neepawa鈥檚 Herbs for Health, contains detailed descriptions, practical uses and recipes for many common plants that we don鈥檛 normally consider. More information about Laura Reeves can be found by searching Prairie Shore Botanicals.

We鈥檙e also very excited to host author Angela Misri in conjunction with the TD Canadian Children鈥檚 Book Week on Tuesday, May 10. With two books published and a third on the way, Angela Misri鈥檚 books about a young detective named Portia Adams have garnered a great deal of attention. While her presentation will be geared for young readers and to aspiring young writers, anyone who is interested in hearing this up and coming author describe her passion for writing and the creative process is welcome. Watch for more information on both author visits.

In other news, the spring session of Storytime will begin on Friday, April 8 at 11:00 for ages 2-5 and their caregivers. We look forward to another good turnout for the reading of stories and making of crafts.

Talk like an open book.鈥
