Premier Brian Pallister and 12 Progressive Conservative MLAs were sworn-in today as members of 水果视频鈥檚 new executive council in a ceremony conducted by Lt.-Gov. Janice Filmon. During the swearing-in ceremony, held at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Pallister spoke of his new government鈥檚 commitment to governing for all 水果视频ns based on the values of 水果视频ns. 鈥淚 am humbled and honoured by the opportunity to serve 水果视频,鈥 Pallister said. 鈥淥ur team鈥檚 plan for a better 水果视频 with lower taxes, better services and a stronger economy was overwhelmingly endorsed by 水果视频ns. We look forward to the opportunity to turn those commitments into reality. We know the job ahead of us will not be easy, but this is the right team to get 水果视频 back on track.鈥 The new executive council represents a one-third reduction in the size of 水果视频鈥檚 cabinet, setting a new tone at the top in conducting government business for 水果视频ns, Pallister said. The new 水果视频 government cabinet, in order of precedence, is as follows:
鈥 Brian Pallister (MLA for Fort Whyte) 鈥 premier and president of the executive council; minister of intergovernmental affairs and international relations; 鈥 Heather Stefanson (MLA for Tuxedo) 鈥 minister of justice and attorney general, Keeper of the Great Seal of the Province of 水果视频, deputy premier; 鈥 Cameron Friesen (MLA for Morden-Winkler) 鈥 minister of finance; 鈥 Kelvin Goertzen (MLA for Steinbach) 鈥 minister of health, seniors and active living; 鈥 Ian Wishart (MLA for Portage la Prairie) 鈥 minister of education and training; 鈥 Scott Fielding (MLA for Kirkfield Park) 鈥 minister of families; 鈥 Blaine Pedersen (MLA for Midland) 鈥 minister of infrastructure; 鈥 Eileen Clarke (MLA for Agassiz) 鈥 minister of Indigenous and municipal relations; 鈥 Cathy Cox (MLA for River East) 鈥 minister of sustainable development; 鈥 Cliff Cullen (MLA for Spruce Woods) 鈥 minister of growth, enterprise and trade; 鈥 Ralph Eichler (MLA for Lakeside) 鈥 minister of agriculture; 鈥 Rochelle Squires (MLA for Riel) 鈥 minister of sport, culture and heritage and minister responsible for francophone affairs and status of women; and 鈥 Ron Schuler (MLA for St. Paul) 鈥 minister of Crown services. Pallister also announced Goertzen will be the government house leader and Jon Reyes has been appointed the military envoy.
