On Saturday, April 23 the parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church in Rivers welcomed a large crowd to their annual spring tea. Special guests there were Prairie Chicks, all wearing their red hats. Many cups of coffee and tea were served, along with a variety of sandwiches and dainties.
As usual, the penny raffle tables were loaded with many beautiful prizes, which were won by: Norma Gill, candles; Peter Bergen, glasses; Vicky Bridges, dish cloths, hanger, cork board, Scotch Tape holder; Ann Lines, containers; Kristen Ventnor, kitchen utensils, muffin bakery; Megan Forsyth, steak knives, Party Light; Heather Gray, golf balls; Frances Young, toy; Don Kellett, veggie tray; Audrey Sadler, vase, picture; Ella Taylor, solar light; Doreen Bate, glasses; Norma Jean Ventnor, earrings, solar light; Zoie Cook, pillow; Emery Cook, cupcake holder; Kathy Roberts, wall hanging; Justin Ventnor, notebook, earrings; Bernice Kellett, picture frame, gift certificate; Lorna Graham, hammer; Sherri Dziver, thermos, tea towels, salad mixer, ice cube pick, vanilla; Kaysi Dziver, coffee; Garth Ventnor, glasses; Irene Ventnor, sand toys, solar light; Jessie Bell, M&M basket, mixing bowl, casserole.
Gordon Allen was the money tree winner. In our raffle draw Dora Irvine won first prize, a large grocery hamper, which she donated to Riverdale Harvest. Adrienne Beaudin won the second and third prizes in the raffle — a small grocery hamper and a spring basket.
