One dead in hit and run

The Blue Hills detachment of the RCMP are investigating a fatal hit and run near Carberry. On Saturday, July 9, at around 3:30 am, police received a report of an unresponsive male lying in the middle of Highway 5, just south of the Sand Hills Casino. 

Officers and emergency services arrived on the scene and found the individual near the road, severely injured. The victim was rushed to hospital, but died due to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as a 22-year-old man from the Swan Lake First Nation.

Following an autopsy performed on July 11, investigators confirmed that the victim had died from an impact by a vehicle. Sgt. Bert Paquet of the 水果视频 RCMP said that they are making a plea to the public for information and witnesses.

鈥淚f you believe you might have some information about this case our investigators would like to hear from you,鈥 said Paquet. 鈥淓ven details that might seem insignificant could potentially be the piece of the puzzle we are looking for in order to move this case forward.鈥

水果视频 RCMP Forensic Identification Services, Serious Crime Unit, Criminal Collision Investigation Team and a traffic analyst are involved in the ongoing investigation.
