RM of Oakview, Feb. 27: To date, no interest has been received regarding someone willing to be a representative for Little Saskatchewan River Conservation District. A survey has been requested for Barrett Street road extension into Rapid City.
Office staff were authorized to attend a municipal administrator鈥檚 convention in Winnipeg April 22-25; registration fees will be paid and the offices in Oak River and Rapid City will be closed. Council agreed to become a silver sponsor ($100) of Rivers Minor Hockey Association. To help manage snowmobile trails in Oakview for 2018, council donated $250 to Valleyview Sno-Riders. Accounts of $84,382.22 and unpaid invoices of $54,791.67 were passed for payment.
Riverdale Municipality, Mar. 6: MWM Environmental reviewed the current service and discussed opportunities available for new services. They will provide weights of waste being diverted from Riverdale. Amendments to the original contract are to be made to capture all fees agreed upon and associated with the original. With substantial completion of the water treatment plant, the revised water rate increase, approved in principle by Public Utilities Board (PUB), is to be submitted for final approval.
A rural water line PUB order was reviewed; a notice outlining the PUB order will be sent to each account holder. Taxes of $2,422.22 were cancelled as they are tax exempt and deemed uncollectible. A bylaw to authorize the expenditure and borrowing of money for construction of a new lagoon passed third reading. A bylaw to amend a bylaw authorizing the expenditure and borrowing of money for construction of a new water treatment plant passed second reading. Forty-six properties were sent to TAXervice for tax sale.
