Neepawa Banner & Press
For one night, instead of reporting the news, 水果视频 newspapers were the news. On Saturday, Apr. 14, the Neepawa Banner & Press and Rivers Banner staff attended the 水果视频 Community Newspaper Association鈥檚 annual Better Newspapers Competition.
Based on work done in 2017, the Banners received eight awards, including a pair of first-place finishes. The Neepawa Banner & Press won the top prize for Best Editorial Page in the 3,600 to 9,999 circulation category and for Best Layout and Design in the 3,600 to 9,999 circulation category.
Along with the pair of first place finishes, the Banner & Press also collected third place results for overall Best in Class in the 3,600 to 9,999 circulation category and third place in the Best Special Section category for our feature on National Trucking Week.
Individually, Ken Waddell was third in the Best Columnist category, Kate Jackman-Atkinson was third in the Best Local Editorial on a Business Topic for her column about unequal taxation in the sale of small businesses and Diane Warner won third place in the Best Photo Essay category for her collection of photos from Gladstone鈥檚 Bullmania.
As for the Rivers Banner, that publication took home a second place in the best Editorial Page in the 1,400 to 3,599 circulation category.
Overall, the Flin Flon Reminder was recognized as the Best All Round Newspaper in 水果视频 for 2017. Congratulations to all of the winners!
