A mixture of family-friendly activities kept everyone entertained at the fifth annual Neepawa and District Chamber of Commerce Fair.  Saturn Shows, based out of the Arborg region, set up their midway at the Neepawa Agricultural Fair Grounds, which is where many of the Chamber鈥檚 activities also took place. To go along with the midway itself, some of the other notable activities at the fairgrounds included barrel races, classic car show and shine and beer gardens.

Not all the festivities were confined to the Ag Grounds, however, as a community-wide yard sale was held. The annual fair parade also brightened up the downtown on Saturday, with several floats and vehicles participating.

Neepawa and District Chamber president Jeff Braun said that the organization is very pleased with the overall response, not only from the local families but from the out-of-town visitors.

鈥淭he weather, for the most part, cooperated and the crowds were very good. One thing that [the Chamber] liked about this year, is that I spoke with many individuals who were in from out-of-town and visited Neepawa specifically for the Fair or the events surrounding the Fair. That was good to see,鈥 said Braun. 鈥淲e put in a bit more of an effort into promoting the Fair in other communities. I think that鈥檚 definitely a plus and something that we are hoping to do more of in the future.鈥

Braun added that while there are no official attendance numbers available, it was a strong weekend overall, especially Saturday. Braun said the feedback from Saturn was that there was a lot of traffic along the midway over the weekend.

With this year now officially in the books, Braun said the Chamber will take a bit of time to access the response, before getting planning underway for next year鈥檚 festivities.

The Chamber鈥檚 next major event will be the Parade of Lights, followed by the annual general meeting in the new year.
