1:09 p.m. 13 new COVID-19 cases and a third related death in Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ
Public health officials have announced that 13 additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified as of 9:30 a.m., bringing the total number of lab-confirmed positive and probable positive cases in Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ to 217. In addition, a third death has been reported. Patient specific details are not being released at this time.
The data also shows:
• 12 individuals are currently hospitalized, which includes six individuals in intensive care;
• 21 individuals have recovered from COVID-19; and
• the total number of deaths reported in Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ is three.
Cadham Provincial Laboratory performed 781 tests Monday. A total of 14,280 tests have been performed since early February.
Ë®¹ûÊÓƵns are reminded to stay home if they can and this includes family gatherings. While many families get together for Easter or Passover celebrations, people should not let their guard down by gathering this year. Working together to maintain social distancing and staying at home unless you have to go out are the only ways to slow the spread and flatten the curve of COVID-19.
11:19 a.m. Request for medical items made by Province
The Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ government is seeking the following items to support the province’s response COVID-19:
• N95 masks,
• surgical masks,
• gloves,
• medical gowns, and
• additional medical supplies to aid in the fight against COVID-19.
The Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ government asks that businesses and individuals able to provide products or services to contact the provincial government immediately and see how they are able to help.
The province is specifically looking for assistance from the garment industry to source medical gowns, suits and other products requiring sewing.
Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ manufacturers or businesses able to provide supplies or prepared to re-tool and rapidly scale up production lines to develop products made in Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ to help in the fight against COVID-19 can go to the online submission form at . Once visiting the site, businesses should wait to be contacted by the procurement office.
Shared Health has also issued a call to businesses who have personal protective equipment on hand.
