Redevelopment plan in the works

With no buyer coming forward at the mortgage auction, Naseer Chaudhry鈥檚 plans for the redevelopment of the property at 244 Hamilton St. in Neepawa continue to inch forward. The auction was held on March 7 as part of the foreclosure process. Through his Winnipeg-based finance and insurance company, Centum Above All Financial, Chaudhry is the second mortgage holder on the property.

New classes as 水果视频 Plowing Days return to Carberry

The 水果视频 Plowing Association is bringing its 水果视频 Plowing Days back to the Carberry Plains Oct. 1 and 2. Along with the regular horse classes of Junior (competitors 15 years and under), senior sulky, walking plow and modified plow, we are expanding our novice sulky class to encourage new competitors to come and try the sport.

Gladstone Kinsmen Club to hold a 鈥淕reat Chili Cookoff鈥

The Gladstone Kinsmen Club is holding a fundraiser for William Morton Collegiate Institute (WMCI) that will give local 鈥榗hefs鈥 a chance to show off their favourite chili recipes. On March 17 at 5:30 pm in the WMCI gym, the club will host a 鈥淕reat Chili Cookoff鈥.

Ceremony held for new Rivers Police office

The Rivers Banner reported in January that Rivers Police Station was going to make it鈥檚 fourth move in a 102-year history of serving the town. Magnum Woodworks (Rivers) and Jeanie鈥檚 Interiors (Rapid City) spent parts of three months (December-February) renovating the former RM of Daly office into a suitable police station. Members began making the move across the street on Feb. 22 and on Tuesday, March 8 a grand opening was planned.

4-H Rodeo Report - Mar. 11, 2016

Rapid City 4-H Rodeo Club organized a ceramics making workshop at Fun Time Pottery in Brandon; we invited members from Rapid City 4-H Beef Club to join us. We had a fun evening painting either a cup or a plate with the 4-H logo, and enjoyed a pizza party afterwards. Everyone who attended got to keep their finished piece of ceramics to use at home.
