Last week we started at the Salt Plant on the east side of Mountain Ave. and travelled south to Shoemaker McGillvray Agencies. Next came SK Laundry and Doc Bolton鈥檚 Auction Mart ran just south of the Agency. Doc and Mary had four children: Margaret, Donald, Cecil and Leonard. The later two, Cecil and Len were quite active in baseball and hockey and both played for The Flin Flon Bombers at one time or another. Cecil worked part time helping Stu Lindsay on his milk run and also worked for The Roger鈥檚 fruit Company for a while.

Nora Heschuk and Sylvie Tomoniko are two French teachers in the Beautiful Plains School Division who have recently published stories aimed at helping students learn French. Heschuk teaches classes from Grades 6 to 12 at Neepawa Area Collegiate and Tomoniko teaches Grade 5 at Hazel M. Kellington School.

Fundraiser rolls through Neepawa

Students from the University of 水果视频's Faculty of Agriculture were in Neepawa on Friday, Oct. 2, for their annual bed push fundraiser. They were raising funds for Cancer Care by pushing a bed from the Safeway parking lot to the Yellowhead Centre.

Wow, how politics seem to change before an election! Not only is this the only time when political ads seem to be as common as ads for automobiles, but there seems to be the feeling of smoke and mirrors. There are ads 鈥� and surprisingly more than one 鈥� that mention how nice the hairdo is of a political opponent. There are leader debates that concentrate on issues that would normally never get discussed at length, but these topics resonate with voters because of sentiment or a strong emotional tie. Another consideration is the importance to make the right choice in who you want for your member of Parliament and not base your vote strictly on who would be the best prime minister.
