Prairie folks who have lived their whole lives in the same prairie town will look out the window of their local coffee shop and lament the evolution of main street in their community. Harkening back to an era with a bustling main street, they'll curse the regionalization of business and emergence of big box stores in the city that have radically changed the face of business in the heart of their downtown. There are even songs written about it.

The new fall school term began at Rivers Collegiate on Wednesday, Sept. 9, with an enrolment of 143 students. Some of the staff changes include David Wolfe as band teacher, succeeding Angela Roberts who is now in charge of resource and guidance.

Vyacheslav Stayanov and Yana Melamed stopped in Neepawa along their journey of Cycle 4 Recycle to refuel themselves on Sept. 3. The two cyclists from Bulgaria have already made 5,600 kms of their two year journey from Alaska to Argentina.
