My perspective - Fewer fences, Better neighbours

Canada is a vast country. While distance may limit a person’s ability to see all of it, for most Canadians, provincial borders are nothing but a big sign, some nicer pavement and maybe a rest area; there are no border guards, check points or fences. But the same doesn’t apply to businesses and their products.

Right in the centre - More imagination please

Last week’s column on recycling drew a swift response from the industry. The letters are being published as soon as space allows. Kate Jackman - Atkinson

By the end of this year, the road may be paved for ride sharing services, such as Uber, to operate legally within the province. On March 20, the provincial government introduced Bill 30, which will deregulate the industry and open the door for new players. In essence, the bill will dissolve the Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ Taxicab Board and move responsibility for regulation of vehicles for hire to municipal governments.
