Westman Communications Group has just completed the second phase of a fibre network upgrade for Neepawa. The second phase involved doing node splits. A node split essentially doubles the amount of bandwidth available for each house.

The Town of Neepawa has unveiled the location for a new 10,000-square-foot fire hall. Mayor Adrian de Groot was joined by councillors, firefighters and enthusiastic members of the community at the ceremonial sod turning on Friday, Dec. 4. The proposed location for the new facility is on the northeast section of the former CN property, near Mill Street.

Members stopping vehicles over the past several weeks issued tickets for driving without a valid licence (two), driving without driver鈥檚 liability insurance (two), carrying liquor in a vehicle contrary to the Liquor and Gaming Control Act (fine $237.50) and the usual speeders.

A generation ago, the thought of an art gallery becoming a fixture on Main Street in any rural 水果视频 community may have been summarily dismissed. The belief that art represents too small a market within our towns would label the proposal to be a risky endeavor. However, increasingly, our communities are seeing an adoption of arts and culture and the heart of that activity is making its way 鈥渄owntown鈥� in our commercial neighborhoods.

Plumas United Church Women president Norma Watson opened the meeting with the reading of 鈥淎 Time to Remember鈥�. Members present reported six visits made to those sick or shut in. Minutes were read and accepted; thanks were expressed to the following: Laurel for taking down the Thanksgiving display; to all who helped with the fall supper; those who worked, provided lunch, etc. at Ralph Kirkland鈥檚 funeral; the conveners and helpers at the Legion supper; and to Wendy, Joyce and all helpers and donors for the upcoming Christmas Tea and Bake sale.
