Readers may be interested to know that Stan Runions of Rivers will be part of Global News鈥� morning show on Tuesday, March 20. The live episode will air at 7:20 a.m. and will last three or four minutes. The purpose of the interview is to promote Tourette Syndrome (TS), a neurological disorder with which he has lived for nearly 30 years.

Neepawa curlers competing in the Flin Flon bonspiel did very well, returning home with second in the Lamont event and fourth in the Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co. competition. It is reported that three members of the team were rushed to hospital on arrival, and the miracle is that they were able to play under the circumstances.

The regular quarterly meeting of Rivers Legion was held with nine members present. All business conducted at the previous executive meetings was explained and discussed. Three new members, Darren Howarth, Jen Howarth and Deb Webster were sworn in and welcomed.

Maple syrup is a staple Canadian food, or so we say eh? On Apr. 13 and 14, the McCreary Maple Syrup Festival will take place at the community centre and the golf course. Both locations will have live bands performing.
