80 years ago Friday, June 23, 1936
Miss Florence Merriman brought honour to herself again in Winnipeg last week when she won the intermediate high jump in the Provincial Ladies Amateur Athletic Association鈥檚 events. She cleared the bar at five feet and three quarters of an inch, which is one and a half inches over the last Canadian record. Congratulations.

Neepawa Town Council Tuesday, June 21
Neepawa has made changes to its community grants program. The revised document has created six varieties of grant availability; Direct Award, Strategic Plans, In-Kind Contributions, Special Events, Community Events and Micro Grants. Mayor Adrian de Groot said Town Council agreed to the revisions, which it believes will clarify which organizations are eligible for the program and in which category.

The launch of the new Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) brand, Clear Lake Country - Riding Mountain National Park took place on Wednesday, June 15 at RMNP Visitor Centre. By partnering with RMNP, Travel 水果视频 and the local business community, Clear Lake Country (CLC) has been given the mandate to become the primary marketing body for the townsite of Wasagaming, RMNP and the community of Onanole.
Whitemud Growing Project working to end hunger

For the fourth year in a row, farmers from the Neepawa, Arden, Plumas and Gladstone area are coming together to grow crops for a good cause. The Whitemud Growing Project, started by area farmers Roland Unger, Charles Doell, Jeff Harder and Jake Hamm, is raising crops to make money for the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFB).
Gladstone Legion raises funds for Fort McMurray

On Friday, June 17, Royal Canadian Legion, Gladstone Branch #110, held a fundraiser for the Fort McMurray fire relief fund. It consisted of a $15 meal ($5 of which was donated), a 50/50 draw, 35 raffle prizes and 11 silent auction items. In the end, $3,729 was raised. With the Gladstone Legion matching these funds, the fire relief fund will be seeing a cheque in the amount of $7,458.
