水果视频 Infrastructure and Transportation quietly implemented a new policy on highway mowing this year. In the past, provincial highways were mowed two or even more times a year but not any more. Only Hwy. 1 is being mowed more than once a season. All other highways are now subject to Phase One mowing which happens after August 24 and that mowing is contracted out. In addition, MIT used to accommodate requests from towns like Neepawa and Minnedosa for special mowing in advance of special community events such as Minnedosa鈥檚 Fun Fest or the former Neepawa Lily Festival. Those request won鈥檛 be met any longer either.

Construction continues on Riverdale Health Centre expansion

On Feb. 10, 1960 Riverdale Hospital opened. It consisted of 18 beds, nursery, x-ray, laboratory, physician and dental offices, nurses quarters, laundry and kitchen facilities. The cost was approximately $220,000. Riverdale Personal Care home, consisting of 20 beds, opened on Oct. 16, 1981 at a construction cost of $718,000. Another addition was build in 1989 with the opening of Westwood Lodge at a cost of $828,800; it had 11 one-bedroom units and one two-bedroom unit.

$6,500 raised for splash park project in Rivers

Saturday, July 18 was a big success for Riverdale Splashpark Committee, which hosted a fundraising auction and social. This day at Riverdale Community Centre included family/children鈥檚 events and a barbecue supper, which was provided by Rivers and Area Lions Club. Profits from supper stayed in the Lions鈥� coffers but the rest of the proceeds from the day went directly to the splash park. It was amazing to see a community pull together for a special cause!

The Gladstone Odd Job Squad has been hard at work the last few weeks. On July 8, nine Odd Job squad members made a trip to Mayfair Farms in Portage la Prairie for the annual strawberry pick. We had over 60 orders to pick!
