Cancellations and closures due to COVID-19

The following are events, businesses and organizations that have been cancelled, postponed, closed, or have altered their operations in some way. We will continue to update this page as more announcements are made.

• Closures and limitations under Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ's state of emergency: Limiting ALL public gatherings of 50 or more; retail and transportation businesses MUST ensure one to two metres of distance between customers; limiting hospitality and entertainment venues to a 50 per cent or 50 person capacity, whichever is less; immediate closure of all bingo and gaming events; immediate closure of all wellness facilities (i.e. gyms, fitness centres, etc.). 

• Child Care Centres: "Suspending services at licensed child-care centres, effective end-of-day Friday, March 20; recommending parents with children in these centres begin to make alternet arrangements as soon as possible; continuing to allow home-based child-care providers to operate; creating dedicated child-care options for front-line essential services staff who need them."

• Casinos: "All casinos will close effective midnight tonight, March 17."

• Visitations: "Public health officials are recommending the immediate suspension of visitors in long-term care facilities across Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ. Exceptions for compassionate reasons or end of life will be made on a cas-by-case-basis."

Made-in-Ë®¹ûÊÓƵ Website Application Demonstrates Teamwork, Technological Innovation, Community Spirit: Premier

The generosity and innovation of Ë®¹ûÊÓƵns to help those in need of assistance is displayed in the new web application, Premier Brian Pallister announced today immediately after the online tool went live.

"This new online tool captures the spirit of our province, where Ë®¹ûÊÓƵns in communities across our province can always be counted on to step up to assist others who need help, especially in times of need," said Pallister. "The innovative tool, created by Ë®¹ûÊÓƵns for Ë®¹ûÊÓƵns, puts people all over the province who need assistance easily in contact with those nearby while adhering to social distancing protocols - who want to help them."
