Don鈥檛 touch that! Mind your manners. Look both ways before you cross the street. Think about how many times you鈥檝e had to repeat these instructions in order to influence habit-forming positive behaviour. Dozens, probably hundreds of times, in different situations and contexts, I suspect. With any luck, after a few years you start to see the results you were hoping for.

Imagine if instead of telling kids to 鈥淕et a job!鈥, we said, 鈥淪tart a business!鈥? Imagine how different our Main Streets would look? For a country that was built by small business owners, some of whom became large, we have become increasingly adverse to entrepreneurship.

I hear a lot of criticism of our governments at all levels. Criticizing the government is a privilege we have in this country, one to be protected. However, we need to make sure we are dealing with truth and not just colouring our criticism with personal based nastiness. It seems that our prime minister, Mr. Harper generates some personal based criticism, often evidenced by phrases like 鈥淚 don鈥檛 like Harper鈥 or 鈥淲e have to stop Harper.鈥
Why do people say such things? The reason is quite simple, Harper does what he said he was going to do.
