Neepawa looking for new street sweeper

The Town of Neepawa wants to buy a new street sweeper. Administration is looking to purchase a 2014 model from Joe Johnson Equipment. The machine was previously used in Winnipeg and has 900 to 1000 service hours on it. Its estimated cost is $172,000 plus tax.

Fifth anniversary for Rivers and Area Foundation

Rivers and Area Community Foundation (RACF) held its fifth annual grant evening last Wednesday, Nov. 19. Chairperson Donna Morken announced that RACF has given $68,939.53 since 2010 and this year, 13 groups requested more than $96,000. Twelve of those 13 groups received a total of  $11,020.24.

Recognizing 30 years

Police Chief Bruce Klassen started working for Rivers Police Service in April but his career began in 1984. After four years of duty in Morden he transferred to work in Brandon where he policed until accepting the chief鈥檚 position in Rivers this spring.
